The Love of God for Creation

Have you ever seen a thing exist without a reason for its existence? or better still, have you ever seen a thing exist without a person or thing bringing it into existence? I can boldly say that the answer to both of those questions is No. What if I told you that the same way an old painting in the museum attests to the fact that a person, even though dead, painted it is the same way your existence attests to the fact that you were created by God even though you can't physically see him. Imagine this, the same way the painting must have come from the painters mind before he took his brush to paint is the same way God saw us in his mind before formed us.

Psalms 139: 13-16 NIV

13 For you created my inmost being;

you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

your works are wonderful,

I know that full well.

15 My frame was not hidden from you

when I was made in the secret place,

when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.

16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;

all the days ordained for me were written in your book

before one of them came to be.

It strengthens me to know that God saw me even before I was created. He saw my unformed body and yet he chose me. Ephesians 1:4 says "For HE CHOSE US in him..." God saw everything about me even before creating me. I WAS THE MASTERPIECE HE SAW IN HIS MIND! YOU WERE THE MASTERPIECE GOD SAW IN HIS MIND! For some reason, the all-powerful, all-knowing, and almighty God, who needed nothing after creating the heavens and the earth, the angels and the elders, thought about you and I and wanted us. No wonder after creating every other thing, "Then God said, 'Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness..." (Gen 1:26). He used mankind in referring to everyone of us. This is why even the unbelievers are still alive---God's love. After the creation of everything, He said, "Let us create Gbemi!" WOW!

God didn't just see our unformed bodies, He also took his time to form us. His word makes us understand that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. As a Nursing student, I can boldly tell you that our body is very complex; a lot of things happen internally even when we are not aware. This shows that God took his time, in his love, to create you and I, and the reason our organs are still functioning the way they should is because He cares!

He also didn't just foreknow you, but he created you for GLORY!

Romans 8: 28-30

28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

29 For those God FORKNEW he also PREDESTINED to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

30 And those he predestined, he also CALLED; those he called, he also JUSTIFIED; those he justified, he also GLORIFIED.

This is the climax of love---that we never asked to exist, but He thought to create us for glory. Some people say, "why did God create me when I didn't ask to be created in the first place?" The reason they say that is because this world has left the place of perfection that God created (we will be discussing this in further posts), nevertheless when God saw us, He wanted us to live in and to enjoy His glory! Ephesians 1:4 NLT, "Even before he made the world, God LOVED US and CHOSE us in Christ..."

What is love to you?

Love to me is a choice

Love to me is saying and sticking to your yes

Love to me is God

Love to me is seeing God say and stick to his yes

To me even before I existed

What is love to you?

After reading:

Take time to meditate on God's love.

Take time to thank God for choosing you.

Ask God to help you reciprocate his love.
